Teaching Literacy

A group reading  a ctivity was conducted at MSISG to promote Arabic literacy. The main aim of the activity was to advance the quality of Arabic language literacy.
Colorful story books in Arabic were provided to groups of students. Children read at their own pace in the level best suited for them, irrespective of age or grade.
The learning environment was transformed into a fun and engaging experience for children as they shared with others the story they had read, which allowed them to use the Arabic language for self expression and verbal communication.
The stories were  carefully chosen to provide moral instruction to readers and help develop Islamic values in them.
This is a rich and effective activity that offers a solid foundation to build confidence in both their academic language development as well as social and communication skills.
